Bethenny Frankel Adds Talk Show Host to Repertoire
The skinny on reality TV star’s new talk show and fondness for Philadelphia.
June 06, 2012

With a Skinnygirl-branded empire including shapewear, exercise DVDs, nutrition bars, and low-cal sippers, as well as four books under her belt, it seems like reality TV star Bethenny Frankel is unstoppable. In between gigs as an entrepreneur and writer, Frankel has also dreamed up a daytime talk show, called Bethenny, which airs on Fox 29 starting weekdays on June 11 at 11 AM. We caught up with the healthy living expert to discuss her newest project.
What inspired you to launch Bethenny?
BETHENNY FRANKEL: I wanted to do a talk show because I wanted to have a broader interaction with women. I think this is a great place to talk to women about what we are going through, how to get there together, to broaden the conversation and really get into it.
Tell us how you feel you’ve impacted women already.
BF: I’ve helped a lot of women with losing weight to taking chances doing things they never thought they would do before.
What topics do you plan on covering on the talk show?
BF: The show is going to be everything that women talk about to other women when out having cocktails, or having girls’ night—marriage, sex, motherhood, struggling how to feed their family, how they’re breast feeding—it’s going to be a real conversation.
You occasionally spend time here in Philadelphia. What do you think of the city?
BF: It’s a charming, magical city. The people are really nice. I also find it to be a really sophisticated city, and there are great restaurants. I just went to a place called Route 6, and years back I went to Rouge—great burgers there; that was when I used to eat meat. The Ritz-Carlton has a great bar for cocktails. Next time I’m in Philly, I want to go to Talula’s Garden.
