HQ Nightclub
Entertainment powerhouses Angel Management Group and EMM Group oversee dozens of nightclub experiences across the country. But when the two enterprises teamed up for their first-ever collaboration in Atlantic City—a new market for both, no less—they relied on the same principles they’ve used in concepts stretching from New York to Las Vegas. “Nightlife is nightlife,” says Eugene Remm, one-third of the EMM team. “It’s that simple.”
The thinking behind this may be straightforward, but there’s nothing simplistic about HQ Nightclub. Tucked inside the casino-hotel Revel and occupying 50,000 square feet, AMG and EMM’s debut project has been an undisputed hit since opening in July. Just ask the hundreds of revelers who wait in line each weekend to see some of the biggest names in electronic music—Avicii, Paul Oakenfold, and Calvin Harris, for instance—play the center DJ stage until the wee hours. Surrounded by LED screens and awash in moving lights, performers dressed in Day-Glo costumes entertain while guests dance anywhere there’s room: on the main dance floor, atop pillowy VIP banquettes just beyond, and from a mezzanine perch.
As HQ has instantly risen to the upper echelons of Atlantic City nightlife, Neil Moffitt, CEO of AMG, says the concept easily rivals its nightlife neighbors to the north. “Avicii has played here three times already, [and] he can play anywhere in the world. HQ is poised to be the epicenter of electronic talent on the entire East Coast.” 500 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, 855-348-0500
