Summer at Philadelphia Style marks the release of our highly anticipated Best of Style feature, and we strive to make sure the cover star on our biggest issue of the year is worthy of the extra attention. That’s why I am exceptionally proud to reveal the incredibly hilarious Wanda Sykes as the celebrity splashed across our July/August issue. Two years ago, while I was serving as the publisher of both Philadelphia Style and Capitol File, Wanda hosted our famous White House Correspondents’ Dinner Afterparty. Ever since, the part-time Media resident’s relationship with Niche Media has blossomed through her gracious offers to host events—she definitely has the star power to make our Best of Style issue shine. After punctuating her recent performances at Borgata with a VIP meet-and-greet with Philadelphia Style, Wanda is now a closer friend to us than ever.

As we gear up for our eighth annual Best of Style party—taking place this year at an exciting new venue, Vie—we want to take this opportunity to thank our favorite retail shops, restaurants, salons and spas, and cultural hubs in Philadelphia for truly being some of the best in the nation. I look forward to seeing many of these institutions at our annual bash. As you are paging through this issue, be sure to dedicate a few lazy summer days to exploring some of our city’s top offerings.
