Rose Hemingway Takes On Broadway
by MARNI PRICHARD MANKO
After nabbing what The New York Times called “one of the most coveted ingénue roles of the season,” Mount Airy native Rose Hemingway is on a trajectory that seemed like a pipe dream back when she was an honors student at Mount St. Joseph Academy in Flourtown. Cast as secretary Rosemary Pilkington opposite Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, this 27-year-old theater newbie (her previous experience is limited to an LA-based production of Parade and a national tour of Mamma Mia!) nailed the career-changing part with raw talent and a fierce love for the role. “To be able to make my debut in a role I’ve always dreamt of playing, in a show I’ve always loved, has been unbelievable.”
