Summer Sundays are typically reserved for late brunches and lazy afternoons spent in Rittenhouse Square. But now they’re also perfect for salon and spa appointments, thanks to a few local shops that have extended their weekend hours (most are open until 4 PM; call ahead to confirm). Tame your mane at Richard Nicholas Hair Studio (1716 Sansom St., 215-567-4790) or Chroma Hair Gallery (108 Market St., 215-627-6337), and get ready to face the week ahead with pampering treatments at Salon L’Etoile & Spa (4360 Main St., 215-483-2500), Terme di Aroma (32 N. Third St., 215-829-9769) or 3000BC (8439 Germantown Ave., 215-247-6020; 605 W. Lancaster Ave., Wayne, 484-367-1000).

The pair hosts private lessons and makeup parties and also offers a well-edited selection of consignment clothing and accessories. Head here to scour the racks for coveted finds like Gucci blazers, Linea Pelle leather clutches and chunky vintage Dior earrings. 1024 Pine St., 267-687- 5446; addictionstudios.com

Savvy shoppers have been heading to Beans Beauty in Manayunk for salon-quality hair-care lines and styling tools since 1980. Now, after nearly 30 years and the opening of a number of suburban locations, owner Michael Batt has fi nally brought Beans to Center City. Batt’s shop stocks brands like Morrocanoil, Glominerals, Rene Furterer and Frédéric Fekkai, and seasoned makeup artists Linda Zatta and Corey Olebaum give complimentary consults at the front cosmetics bar. Also noteworthy is the Beans Beauty Salon, which is offering a new menu of scalp treatments. “It’s like a facial for your scalp,” Batt says. 1733 Chestnut St., 215-567-1518; beansbeauty.com
