Satin peep-toe sandals ($525) and double platform pumps ($790), Salvatore Ferragamo. King of Prussia Mall, 610-491-6810; ferragamo.com

In 1923, Salvatore Ferragamo opened a boot shop in Hollywood, catering to the starlets and screen sirens of the day. Wanting to please his glamorous clientele, he began studying the intricate anatomy of the foot in order to make custom designs pleasing to the eye while still being comfortable for his patronesses. After relocating to Florence (where the maison still resides), Ferragamo began indulging his imagination, constructing enchanting masterpieces for the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, and the Duchess of Windsor. Now, for the first time, these made-to-order heels will be available to those for whom gracing the red carpet is not a commonplace pleasure. For three days only starting on October 13, the Ferragamo boutique at the King of Prussia Mall will be offering the Red Carpet collection, a special custom-design program that allows women to select from six different shoe styles, 23 shades of satin, and imprinted monogramming for a truly one-of-a-kind sole-searching experience.
