With its brightly hued orange walls, Center City Boutique Eyesite has a retail space that reflects the modern mood of its designer eyewear brands. But even owner Gene Kogan can’t deny that some labels, like Oliver Goldsmith, defy the trends. “We love Oliver Goldsmith for its iconic status and timeless design,” says Kogan, who is one of the only retailers in the US carrying the line. “The way I see it, the brand is the history of eyewear and fashion.” Originally introduced in 1926, the label was revived by Goldsmith’s great-granddaughter in 2010, featuring updated interpretations of his trademark styles. Now Philadelphians can instantly channel iconic legends like John Lennon and Michael Caine (both of whom were fans) by simply slipping on a pair of these fashion-forward frames. 124 S. 19th St., 215-557-0757.
