In its 120th year as one of Center City’s landmarks, Reading Terminal Market is one of America’s oldest and largest public markets. In order to conserve and enhance this urban gem, the Market is again hosting its Valentine to the Market Gala on February 25. This year’s event will be co-chaired by Mayor Michael Nutter and Governor Tom Corbett. Offering food provided by the market’s vendors, dancing, and two stages of live entertainment, the night will be one to remember.
A donation will grant you access to the VIP party, where guests will sip specialty drinks and champagne, nibble on hors d’oeuvres, and watch as the city’s celebrity chefs face off in a mystery ingredient appetizer challenge.
A purveyor of regional flavors and offerings, this year alone, the Market has been a foodie attraction (Man v. Food’s Adam Richman took on a DiNic’s pulled pork sandwich), a movie set (National Treasure, starring Nicholas Cage), and the site of a presidential ice cream stroll (President Obama ordered a mint chip cone on his way to Carmen’s for a cheesesteak).
