Alexandra and Alex’s glamorous nuptials at the Philadelphia Museum of Art were an unforgettable celebration that was worth the wait.

For Alexandra Kim Panichello and Alex MacKeith Hay, quarantining in May 2020 was not all that bad. With the help of their “quarantine squad,” Alex built a beautiful backdrop in the couple’s backyard to propose to his girlfriend of one year. The couple—who originally met on the dating app Hinge—chose a wedding date of May 1, 2021, but due to the city’s restrictions had to alter their plans. “We were still married on May 1, and had an intimate reception at Merion Cricket Club with our bridal party and closest family,” says Alexandra of their 80-guest affair.
“Thanks to our incredible wedding planner, Robert Canada, we had a backup plan the whole time and were able to move the party to June 19.” This time, in front of 225 guests at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the duo created a miniceremony before stepping into a glamorous, white and pink wonderland—a tent filled with over-the-top floral arrangements, gold accents and etched mirrored seating cubes—the bride’s dream wedding. The ultimate wow moment came at the end of the night at the Four Seasons Philadelphia: DJ Kim Lee (of the Netflix show Bling Empire) flew in to surprise everyone at the “ballroom transformed to club” afterparty. “It was absolutely incredible,” says Alexandra.
