On June 8, 2019, nonprofit theater company Theatre Exile celebrated it's return to South Philadelphia with a free block party at 13th and Reed streets. The theater company is back at its former address after a few years of rotating spaces in Center City. The block party was the theatre's thank you for the community’s support over the last 23 years which has led the organization to a major milestone – a newly renovated theater. Guests were able to take a tour of the brand-new building, drink al fresco in the beer garden, got their groove on with live music and a Mummers performance.
