Blonde bombshell Bebe Rexha rocked the stage on August 18 during The Happiness Begins Tour with teen heartthrobs, the Jonas Brothers. But aside from rocking Billboard hits and releasing her first solo album just last year—she’s also the brains behind hits like Eminem and Rihanna’s “Monster,” Selena Gomez’s “Like a Champion” and Nick Jonas’ “Under You”—Rexha’s been busy partnering with RITAS, spearheading the #NeverApologize campaign (theritas.com). Here, we talk to the artist about the movement; touring with the Jonas Brothers; and where she plans on going during her next trip to Philly.
The RITAS #NeverApologize movement aligns with my values of living life boldly and proudly, no matter what others may think. I’m lucky I have a platform to share my voice, and by working with RITAS I am able to invite more women to be a part of the conversation and support one another. I believe that having these conversations and standing together as a community will breakdown the harmful labels in our society and we’ll all be happier, better people in the end.
I hope #NeverApologize inspires people to not fear judgment so they can live their best lives and feel empowered to express their individuality. I love my Rexhars more than anything on this earth, and I’m so appreciative of how they have supported me as I pursued my passion as a singer and songwriter. While I’m on tour, RITAS and I are giving supporters of the movement the opportunity to see me in concert and have some quality one-on-one time backstage to talk more about what it means to #NeverApologize.
The Happiness Begins Tour has been incredible so far. The energy and excitement I am experiencing is like nothing I have ever seen. To be on this journey alongside the Jonas Brothers is pop heaven—they have built a fan base that an artist can only dream of, and it’s awesome to have my Rexhars in the same space.
We only began the tour a couple of weeks ago, but I am feeling increasingly charged and energized with each show, and for that, I’m grateful because this is a massive tour and we have a long way to go. I am HERE for it! Each city has brought a ton of energy. Stepping on the stage for the first time at each show is easily the best part of my day.
Okay...I actually want to see the Liberty Bell. I’m not an intense history fanatic, but from what I’ve read and studied, the Liberty Bell is an incredible piece of US History. That’s something special about touring America —taking in all the history!
