Boyds Philadelphia takes luxury retail to the next level with a new personal shopping experience.
Whether you’re pressed for time or praying for a little pampering (or both), Boyds Philadelphia’s (1818 Chestnut St., boydsphila.com) new floor for personal shopping promises a plush escape for serious retail therapy.
The fourth-floor space, designed by Marguerite Rodgers Interior Design, feels like a New York City atelier with its clean, industrial-chic vibe. Wind your way past the vignettes of designer eveningwear looks to the intimate sitting area, where colorful accents, dramatic floral arrangements and stacks of fashion tomes add personality. The handful of private suites just beyond has a similar vibe, featuring three-way mirrors tricked out with pedestals and adjustable lighting for day or night, and chandeliers swathed in vintage Pucci scarves looming just above. For shopping sustenance, Boyds has DiBruno Bros. at the ready for last-minute lunches.
Missy Dietz, director of new business development, says special attention was paid to every detail in creating the ultimate experience. “I have been in the retail world for over 35 years, and, along the road, there have been many highs as a result of huge successes, and certainly some experiences I would call ‘opportunities,’” she says. “I can truly say the Personal Shopping Complex at Boyds is, and forever will be, my shining moment.”
Look for special holiday events throughout December, including Sundays With Santa for family photos (pets welcome) and pop-up shops with Simon Alcantara jewelry—plus Hound pet accessories and Haverford childrenswear boutique, cBOP.
