Boyds Philadelphia’s new beauty boutique makes a splashy debut.
If you catch a faint whiff of Baccarat Rouge 540 next time you step inside Boyds Philadelphia, follow those unmistakably heady notes straight through the women’s department to Boyds’ chic new first-floor beauty boutique. There, you’ll find bottle after bottle of Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s signature fragrances enjoying pride of place among a handful of brands that fill the gleaming jewel-box rotunda. Think of the finely edited offerings here as the products that get Boyds’ discerning stamp of approval, says Missy Dietz, director of new business development. Kevyn Aucoin, Kjaer Weis, and Doylestownbased Hush + Dottie round out the cosmetics, while Tata Harper and Augustinus Bader—celebs like Victoria Beckham are fans of the hot European brand—represent must-have skincare ranges. Creed, Tom Ford, and Atelier Cologne join Baccarat as the scents to spritz now. Dietz says that men’s skincare and exclusive events led by beauty specialists Shauna Mulligan and Shraddha Patel, who tend to everything from minifacials to makeovers, are on the horizon. As is, of course, carefully growing the product list. “When choosing brands, we wanted to provide luxury [ones] that women identify with, but we also selected brands who create products with integrity, some of whom give back to the community and are environmentally sustainable,” says Dietz. “We’re very excited for this new venture into the beauty space.” That makes two of us. 1818 Chestnut St., boydsphila.com
