On June 13, The Fillmore Philadelphia was the scene of the 2019 Wall Ball, benefiting Mural Arts Philadelphia. This event supported their core program areas - Art Education, Restorative Justice, and Porch Light—yielding unique, project-based learning opportunities for thousands of youth and adults. This year, Wall Ball honored philanthropists Julia and David Fleischner, Philadelphia Eagles player and community activist Malcolm Jenkins, and artist collaborators Jesse Krimes and Russell Craig who have been working in reforming our criminal justice system and reframing the narrative around incarceration.
