On March 9, 2019, The Mütter Museum celebrated Dr. Thomas Dent Mütter’s 208th birthday, with a superstition-themed 13-plate feast and 13 extraordinary circus acts from the Philadelphia School of Circus Acts. Clüb 13 was a special, one-night-only experience that’s based on a real 19th century supper club that dined in the face of superstition. These clubs tempted fate with events that highlighted the unlucky number 13 and often featured black cats, walking under ladders, mirror smashing, and salt spilling. Guests dressed for the theme and enjoyed a cocktail party and a tour of the medical oddities of the museum before heading upstairs for dinner and dancing.
