The former Philadelphia Stock Exchange Building was converted to the Sofitel hotel in 2000 just in time for the Republican Convention held in Philadelphia that summer. Over the years it's undergone a few renovations, but this year the Rittenhouse Square hotel just completed a multimillion-dollar renovation project that overhauled all of its 300-plus hotel rooms, the first extensive upgrade in nearly a decade.
On April 25, 2019, the hotel hosted a VIP party for friends and business leaders in the community to check out the newly renovated 306-room hotel at 120 S. 17th St. Guests enjoyed cocktails and lite bites provided by Sofitel Executive Chef Edward Hancock.
