Philadelphia’s luxury hotel, The Rittenhouse, has announced plans to open an all-in-one spa, health club, and salon this upcoming summer. “Over the past two-and-a-half decades, The Rittenhouse has established itself as an iconic destination, not only for those visiting the city, but for the local residents who return time and again,” says general manager Reg Archambault. “Introducing a new state-of-the-art health club and spa, with treatment rooms and services catering to both women and men, as well as groups, was a natural extension of our luxury offerings.” We take a look inside of The Rittenhouse Spa & Club – Hair by Paul Labrecque prior to its late summer 2014 opening.
Inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier’s collection, the space boasts a blend of luxe materials (think glass and black stone), creating an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. Whether looking to pamper yourself with a signature body treatment, detox your skin with a revitalizing facial, or reenergize with a full body massage, the 5,000-square foot spa tailors its services to each guest. A unique amenity, the Spa Suite, provides couples and small groups with an especially intimate experience, the first of its kind in Philly.
Looking to do more than just kick back and relax? Work up a sweat at the lavish health club, featuring top-of-the-line exercise equipment, a group studio for aerobic and yoga classes, and an ample stretching space equipped with a ballet bar. Of course, no modern fitness center would be complete without plush locker rooms, each with its own sauna and steam room. Ideal for summer, the club also boasts an outdoor deck where guests can unwind after a dip in the expansive indoor pool.
The Salon – Hair by Paul Labrecque
The Paul Labrecque Salon, the third element in the one-of-a-kind facility, brings the talent of the prominent Manhattan-based stylist to Philly. The contemporary design nods to Alexander McQueen’s wedding dress collection: 3,000 square feet of space evoking romance and opulence with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, breathtaking views of Rittenhouse Square, and crisp shades of white complemented by the salon’s soft lighting. Gentlemen will also enjoy a private barbershop and grooming area offering both traditional and exclusive services. 210 W Rittenhouse Square, 215-546-9000
