Meet Kyle Michelle Weddings & Events!

Tell us what makes your business different from other wedding companies?

While most wedding planning companies are owned by one individual, Kyle Michelle Weddings & Events is owned by two women who happen to be sisters. Meghan and I, Kristin, work seamlessly as a team and are fortunate enough to have some amazing women working for us. Although we are the "bosses" we consider Kyle Michelle more of a family, and the lovely ladies who work for us are just another sister. Over the past ten years, we have had many interns and employees who have brought so much to our small business, we are beyond lucky to currently have a team of talented, creative, hard-working women who represent the Kyle Michelle brand perfectly.

What is one of the most unique elements you have seen in a wedding?

We have been a part of some very unique events, however, this past October takes the cake. The couple wanted a chic safari-themed wedding and Meghan was tasked with making it all happen in two months' time, in the busiest wedding season ever. The coolest part, alongside so many others, was the safari ride to the ceremony featuring a zebra and a camel. It's still hard to believe that happened!

Do you do anything that is signature to your brand?

Our brand is the ladies who do the work. I know that sounds cliche, but it's true. We will bend over backward to get it done. Planning weddings and events are not for the faint of heart. The end goal for us is a happy client and on the day of their wedding, we do what it takes to make that happen. We have done everything from serving food when the waitstaff walked out, to sewing dresses that ripped. It's the small details like those that are our brand. We work hard, and get sh*t done!

What is the most gratifying part of your business?

This, this is an easy one, it's the simple moments that make this job so worth it. It's when the father of the bride looks at us and says, “You did it! I didn’t think it could be done but, you did it!” Or when the bride texts us the next morning gushing about how she "couldn't have done it without us." In those moments we know this was our calling and we pinch ourselves that this is our life.

How far in advance should couples book your business?

In 2019 I would have said 18 months to a year before your proposed wedding date you should look to hire a wedding planner, now, in 2022 I recommend two years to 18 months. We are still feeling the effects of the canceled 2020 wedding season and are booking over two years out in some cases. So, the sooner the better!
