Modern Luxury’s very own Antonia DePace could not have predicted what a whirlwind year 2021 would be: She started her dream job as editor-in-chief of Philadelphia Style magazine as she began to plan her dream wedding to her boyfriend of five years. On the couple’s five-year anniversary, to be exact, John Pilling got down on one knee in Puerto Rico where they were on vacation. “Johnny and I had always talked about marriage, and I think I sent him a million engagement ring photos over the years, but I had no idea it was coming then,” says Antonia. “We love to travel, so for it to happen in front of crystal blue waters during one of our vacations was everything.” Antonia and John, who originally met in Manayunk during a night out with friends, are planning their April 2023 nuptials at Holly Hedge Estate. The perfect backdrop for a rustic-meets-elegant vibe, the New Hope venue will be filled with lavender, greenery, baby’s breath and garden roses—all inspired by the bride’s time living in southern France.
