Appreciate the works of African, Asian, Latin and European artists at The Barnes Foundation. This month’s new exhibit premiering Oct. 22—Marie Laurencin: Sapphic Paris—honors one of the most successful yet underrepresented artists of 1920s Paris. The Fabric Workshop and Museum
At The Fabric Workshop and Museum, artists are encouraged to explore and create. Showcasing contemporary art, the museum invites artists from all career stages to collaborate and experiment with numerous materials and media. Institute of Contemporary Art
From the University of Pennsylvania, the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) houses an impressive collection of contemporary art and culture. On display now through December is Philly native David Antonio Cruz’s When the Children Come Home. Michener Art Museum
Impressionist fans—this one’s for you. This nonprofit houses a substantial collection of the state’s Impressionist paintings by New Hope painters like William Lathrop and Edward Redfield, as well as historical and contemporary work. Commonly featuring local artists, the museum’s Ethel Wallace: Modern Rebel exhibit will open later this month, highlighting Philly native’s Japanese cloth works that captivated New York’s elite during the early 1900s. 138 S. Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts
Recognized as the first art school and museum in America, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) celebrates the relationship between art and the artist through historical and contemporary works. Philadelphia Museum of Art
Explore pieces from Korea at the Philadelphia Museum of Art through The Shape of Time: Korean Art after 1989 exhibit, opening Oct. 21. Korean creations are not the only presentations you’ll find, though, as this museum holds history and depth developed through the decades. Rodin Museum
Home to Auguste Rodin’s extensive body of sculpture work, the Rodin Museum also features art from Camille Claudel, Henri Gréber and others.
