A pandemic and a hurricane could not stop Ashley Irvin and Emanuel Neil from having their dream wedding reception at Power Plant Productions. Ashley donned a yellow jacket from Love Tree for a bright pop of color.
A true Philadelphia love story started when Ashley Irvin met Emanuel Neil at Kung Fu Necktie in Fishtown. The pair got engaged a year and a half later at the Warwick Hotel and finally got to enjoy the wedding of their dreams on Halloween 2021 at Power Plant Productions (postponed one year due to COVID). “We originally were to get married at Manayunk Brewery, but five weeks before our wedding, Hurricane Ida flooded the venue,” says Ashley, who credits Sara Murray of Confetti & Co. for her help in swapping locations. “All of our vendors pivoted so effortlessly with the last-minute venue change. Sara, especially, went out of her way to ensure that everything went beautifully with all of the changes.” White and gold, frosted acrylic, fluted glass and an abundance of greenery with white florals filled the industrial space for the couple’s masquerade theme reception—complete with plenty of masquerade masks for their 110 guests. Diverse Catering whipped up dishes like filet mignon, stuffed chicken and vegetarian Napoleon before a naked three-tiered cake was sliced into, ending this unforgettable Halloween night with a treat.
