Termini Brothers Bakery was founded in 1921 by brothers Giuseppe and Gaetano Termini, who came from Italy. Today, it boasts five different Philadelphia locations. Each offers a wide variety of custom cake options, so you can get exactly what you want for your amount of guests. The only caveat: orders must be placed 48 hours in advance. Choose from a base of Italian cream, red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, marble pound, chocolate chip pound, strawberry short, ricotta, carrot and much more.

Located in south Philadelphia, this Mexican bakery featured a menu full of cookies, cakes, biscotti, muffins and more. You can choose from an array of cakes, including vanilla cake, chocolate cake, cheesecake, chocolate chip pound cake, Oreo cake, rum cake, strawberry shortcake, tiramisu cake, chocolate layers cake and chocolate mousse cake. Really though, Amigos Bakery is all about the decadent tres leche cakes. Try the chocolate tres leches with peach or strawberry filling; or vanilla tres leches with pecan and peach, pecan and strawberry, pecan, strawberry and peach, or strawberry fillings!

Any south Philly must, Vanilya Bakery is newer to the neighborhood, selling bagels and spreads, cookies, brownies, danishes, croissants and more. The custom cakes have to be ordered in advance with no same-day pickup, but the variety of choice and professionalism of the staff make this a go-to party cake destination. You can order a chocolate cake with vanilla, raspberry, Oreo, or chocolate buttercream icing; or try a vanilla cake with vanilla, raspberry or Oreo buttercream.

Located in Rittenhouse Square, this small batch bakery specializes in recreating nostalgic childhood tastes. Bakeshop family recipes yield marvelous babkas, brownies, cookies, muffins, scones and pies. We're all about the cakes though, which come in chocolate chip pound cake and bundt cake varieties, as well as loaves such as brown sugar pound cake, sour cream coffee cake, chocolate chip pound cake, Nutella swirl cake, and blueberry sour cream cake.

Located inside Reading Terminal Market, Elizabeth Halen opened the Flying Monkey Bakery in 2010. The homemade menu soon made this stop a hot spot for treat lovers, serving brownies, bars, cookies, cupcakes, pies, cakes, and signature whoopie pies. Here, you can build your own custom cake, choosing the cake flavor, fillings and buttercream icing. The classics are all there as are vegan base options, with fillings that include strawberry jam, lemon curd, passionfruit curd, dark chocolate ganache and more. Top it off an icing of butterscotch, champagne, chocolate, gingerbread, maple, peanut butter, chai tea, lemon and more.
