Hiking is a great way to stay active, motivated and busy, even as the seasons change. Whether you’re looking for a fun way to get fit or just need a little you time among the trees, this list of trails in and around the city of Philadelphia offer a great opportunity to take a walk alone or with loved ones.
Grab some comfortable boots and a bottle of water, and enjoy these hiking trails for every experience level.

1312 Sumneytown Pike, Lower Gwynedd Township / Alltrails
Located in Ambler, this easy trail clocks in at 2.1 miles. Along the way, you'll come upon a little waterfall with a river. This is a nice trail for hiking, running or walking during the spring, summer and fall seasons.
1750 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley / Alltrails
Located in Huntingdon Valley, this easy trail offers a longer 5.4 mile trek along Pennypack Creek. Walk, run or bike through beautiful forest scenery. This is an especially sweet trail during the changing seasons. Dogs are welcome here, but must be kept on a leash.
183 Moredon Rd, Huntingdon Valley / Alltrails
Located in Huntingdon Valley, this trail is 3.9 miles long and crosses with the Pennypack Creek Trail. It's classified as an easy trail, but you will come upon some challenging hills along the way. You may see some wildlife along the trail as well.

9598-9500 Forbidden Drive
Located in East Falls, this trail is also known as Forbidden Drive. Clocking in at 5.3 miles long, this trail crosses over Wissahickon Creek. It's a gravel trail, which offers a different sort of walk or run, so bring the right shoes.
2600 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy / TrailLink
Located in Center City, this trail is 4.3 miles and runs along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. It begins at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and crosses over the Schuylkill River Trail.
6091-6099 Jannette Street / TrailLink
Located in Blue Bell, this trail is 8.5 miles long and ends on the Schuylkill River Trail. This trail intersects with the Fort Washington State Park Trail, Lincoln Drive Trail and Forbidden Drive Trail.
