This storied Center City department store is as popular for their light show as they are for great designer finds. Stop by before New Year’s Eve to check out their famous display, a tradition that dates back more than 50 years. Guests will be able to witness more than 100,000 LED lights transform into familiar holiday images, which will be accompanied by live festive music from the Wanamaker Grand Organ. 1300 Market St., 215-241-9000
Drop by historic Franklin Square to catch their Electrical Spectacle light show, a performance showcasing more than 50,000 lights and an energetic holiday soundtrack from the Philly POPS. The centerpiece is a breathtaking kite that serves as an ode to Benjamin Franklin. Plus, on December 23, guests can view a special Hanukkah celebration with dreidel games, latkes, and more. Perhaps the most-well known of the festive displays in the area, Longwood Gardens is putting their more than 6,000 seasonal plants, hundreds of poinsettias, and colorful fountains on display for the holiday season. Over 500,000 lights will be put up throughout their winter wonderland for a holiday celebration you won't want to miss. Take a break from all your holiday shopping for a brief stop at Rittenhouse Square. Here, you'll find the gorgeous, 30-foot tree lighting up the center of the square, surrounded by countless lights hanging from the trees. Don't worry—if it gets too cold out, opt instead for a cozy meal inside Parc to view the lights over delicious French fare and a dirty martini. 18th and Walnut streets
