And just like that, another luxury collab brings refinery, comfort and pop culture together in a cute and enviable package.
Birkenstock and Monolo Blahnik have teamed up on a seven-piece footwear collection, the first few styles of which are available Thursday, March 24, on the Birkenstock and Manolo websites.
The sandals offer all the cloud-like comfort of traditional Bikenstocks in a cool, velvety look Carrie Bradshaw would approve of—and we know this because the Spanish shoe company designed one of the sandals to look just like the Sex and the City lead's famous blue Manolos.
According to a report by Highsnobiety, two styles dubbed the Arizona and Boston are made with royal blue velvet and boast crystal-embellished buckles, just like the ones on the fictional writer's favorite Manolo heels. It's a compelling argument for comfort and style, a real cozy situation that's said to range from $750 to $810 retail.
Beyond the royal blue options, fans can expect similar takes on the classic Birkenstock style in black leather and fuchsia velvet. A second wave of footwear designs is set to drop in June of 2022.
Carrie Bradshaw has been getting a lot of play lately, as Sarah Jessica Parker and crew returned to the television screen with the Sex and the City spin-off series And Just Like That… The show, which is now streaming on HBO MAX, wasn’t without its controversy, but it remained a smash hit with audiences. HBO said the first episode brought in the most viewers of any show debut in the platform’s history.
Parker's character Bradshaw continues to push style boundaries on screen, and while she also still prefers heels, we bet she could get behind this luxurious footwear spin-off, too.
This isn't Birkenstock's first time collaboration across brands. Previous team ups have included Rick owns, Dior and Jil Sander.
