Carolina Alvarez-Correa and Ian McNabb said “I do” at the groom’s parents’ Main Line home—amid magical, romantic details and muted spring tones.Carolina Alvarez-Correa and Ian McNabb
ALTHOUGH IT TOOK A FULL SIX WEEKS for Carolina Alvarez-Correa to respond to Ian McNabb’s first text message, the Los Angeles couple, who connected on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel, hit it off the very first time they met at a cocktail bar in 2017. “When he texted me, it happened to be my birthday, so I missed it and didn’t respond,” says Carolina. “Six weeks later, I saw the unread text. Fortunately our texting chemistry was not predictive of our in-person chemistry!”
The reception tent was filled with peonies, roses and greenery for a romantic vibe
After a 2020 engagement, the couple planned their May 2022 wedding (keeping the pandemic in mind) at the groom’s parents’ home—striving for an “enchanted forest” feel. “Ian’s parents’ property is so beautiful and verdant, we really wanted to capture the magical, romantic quality with lots of green, splashes of color and warm lighting,” says the bride.
The invitations were muted rose with gold leaf writing to reflect the color theme of muted pinks and neutrals
Sage Catering created three delicious stations for the reception—Asian fusion, New American and churrasco—for the 180 guests, before the crowd was wowed by the newlyweds’ dance moves (from their lessons at West Coast Swing Dancing). A pie bar featuring banana cream pie, blueberry pie and brown butter peach cobbler was enjoyed in lieu of a traditional cake (the couple opted for a ceremonial cutting cake only), and custom-cocktails were enjoyed well into the night as the reception turned into an afterparty under the stars.
