When looking at big day photos in five, 25- and 50-years, you want to relish in its beauty, not cringe at your choices! That’s why, Carl Alan believes your wedding’s style should reflect yours— be that eclectic, whimsical or sophisticated— but it should also transcend time. And this is where the studio’s more than 50-years of astute styling and production prowess come into play.
Cue one of Carl Alan’s November newlyweds! For Yvonne and Seth, the studio designed an elegant, timeless look for the couple’s reception at the Union League of Philadelphia. Of course, hints of the season, like green velvet and white fur (stoles) were incorporated into the day. However, the studio created a romantic scene— using gold accents and an abundance of candles (small, tall and hanging!)— that wasn’t overtly holiday and would look just as stunning on the couple’s silver anniversary as it did on the day they said “I do”!
Naturally, Carl Alan’s team started with an ever-classic color palette of whites and greens, and elements that would create visual interest (happily-ever-after), including a trio of tablescape styles brimming with white blooms and candles. Drawing gazes to the ballroom’s exquisitely-detailed ceiling though was a showstopper of a centerpiece that was reminiscent of a snow-kissed tree. Tall trumpet vases were arranged with long, bowed branches of cherry blossoms, larkspur, and curly willow— adorned with hanging faceted crystal votives.
Now, we all know everyone’s eyes are on the bride— the day-of and in pics every day thereafter— so Yvonne’s bouquet needed to exude just as much class as the reception décor. To complement her gown’s smooth trumpet silhouette, the studio designed a gathered bouquet with movement and texture that featured white roses, larkspur, lisianthus and variegated foliage— including assorted varieties of eucalyptus and Italian ruscus. And nothing is more classic than pearls, so both Yvonne’s and her bridesmaids’ white satin-wrapped stems were finished with touches of the gems.
