Derek Lam re-creates the Fall 2016 catwalks for a super-stylish fundraiser for Boys' Latin.
A look from Derek Lam’s Spring 2016 collection.
As American as apple pie, Derek Lam’s classic sportswear has long been a staple in the wardrobes of Philadelphia’s best-dressed. The designer’s carefully considered signature detailing is just one facet of the design aesthetic that has earned his eponymous brand, founded in 2002, wide acclaim after 12 years honing his craft at Michael Kors. Granted awards by the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 2005 and 2007, Lam boasts a serious talent for softening structure with femininity that comes through in his approachable collection of ready-to-wear and accessories. During Fashion Week, Lam dazzled with below-the-knee skirts and form-fitting turtlenecks. On April 20, Lam, along with Neiman Marcus Senior Vice President and Fashion Director Ken Downing, will present his Pre-Fall and Fall 2016 collections during a VIP fashion show at Neiman Marcus for supporters of the Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School, followed the next day by a Neiman Marcus-hosted Derek Lam Fall 2016 trunk show for the public. “Fashion brings excitement, whether it’s about a new silhouette or color,” says Lam. “In the same way, our involvement with Boys’ Latin attention to a great Philadelphia school.” Neiman Marcus, King of Prussia Mall, 610-962-6200
