The tropical details in Miami Beach were the perfect backdrop for Cristen Cipa and Doug Owen to tie the knot. The bride wore nude satin Badgley Mischka heels embellished with pearls and rhinestones

When Doug Owen proposed to Cristen Cipa, marketing director at Bernie Robbins Jewelers, with a Hearts On Fire diamond in 2018, they began to dream up their destination wedding at the beachfront Palms Hotel in Miami Beach. Exactly three years later (postponed one year due to the pandemic), the New Jersey-based couple said “I do” in front of their 50 guests, exchanging wedding bands by Hearts On Fire before dancing outside under the veranda terrace in the moonlight with the perfect Florida weather. “We wanted our guests to feel immersed in nature. Hosting in a relaxed setting with a warm ambiance was important to us,” says Cristen, who has been vacationing at the Palms Hotel for over a decade. Tropical foliage and palm frond centerpieces with pink, peach and coral hues decorated the tables as flavorful dishes like Argentinian marinated flat iron steak and macadamia nut-crusted grouper were served, and the night ended sweetly with an amaretto-flavored cake and mini pastries. Although the newlyweds spent their wedding week in Miami, they are planning a European honeymoon next year.
