What sparked your passion and inspired you to start your business?

In the early phases of the pandemic, I kept seeing people on my social media start their own businesses, some even specialized in event planning. This was the fire I needed to get Divas off the ground. I knew in my heart I could do this - I had the experience, knowledge, drive, and passion. The only person who was standing in my way was me. I was simply too scared of failure. However, growth does not come from staying in your comfort zone, and you will never know if you are going to fail if you don’t try. So I took the necessary jump and never looked back.

Who has been the greatest source of inspiration in your life, and why?

My family is my “why.” All that I do, I do for them. I want my kids to grow up and be inspired by my journey. I want them to know that you can start with nothing but a crazy dream and turn it into something to be proud of. My team, or the “Divas squad” as we refer to ourselves as, is the reason for our trajectory. These women are so empowering and motivating. They are constantly coming up with new ideas to grow the business, improve systems and procedures, and overall ways to “be better.” Not one single diva settles for less than their best. Even on their worst days, they push through.

What is the most gratifying part of your business?

This may sound a little selfish but genuinely hearing “we couldn’t have done it without you.” My team and I work so hard to ensure that every detail is thoroughly thought out, to make sure that the day is memorable and stress-free. At times, this job can be grueling, but hearing those words is the perfect reminder that these small bumps in the road are really worth it in the end.

Talking about your business, what is your best advice for engaged couples?

I always encourage couples to book your vendors early. Let us plan around you instead of you planning around them. This ensures that you get the pick of the litter. You get who you want without feeling like you need to settle.

Finally, how far in advance do you recommend couples book with you?

I recommend that clients book us FIRST. Set your date (or let us help you) and then lock us in. This way you have someone to guide and help you throughout the entire process. Sometimes you need a referral, some professional advice, or just a sounding board so by booking in advance, you get to truly take advantage.
