1. Eagle Village Shops

My favorite part of shopping is the experience. I like to browse through boutiques for unique finds and then catch a bite to eat with friends. The experience of shopping is what makes Eagle Village Shops a perfect destination. 503 Lancaster Ave., Wayne, eaglevillageshops.com

2. Kabobeesh

I crave South Asian food and find I enjoy it the most when the experience is somewhat authentic. This is also the only restaurant I have been able to find in Philadelphia with my favorite dessert: falooda, a unique ice cream specialty. 4201 Chestnut St., kabobeesh.com

3. Ultimate Frisbee

I have three teenagers who love sports and love to support their Philadelphia teams. That being said, the time to get in and out of a football or baseball game with parking and traffic can make it a full-day event to go to a game! The Philadelphia Phoenix is Philly’s Ultimate Frisbee franchise and play most of their games right outside the city. It’s fun for the whole family. theaudl.com/phoenix

4. Twelve Gates Arts

This local gallery gives a voice to modern and contemporary art by South Asian artists. It’s a rare and unique genre to see on display and a true gift to have this resource to add to Philadelphia’s diverse cultural scene. 106 N. Second St., twelvegatesarts.org

5. Skin the Surface Podcast

I love podcasts but find that if they are too long I cannot always finish an episode in one sitting. This podcast is great because it is focused and gives helpful tips and information in a conversational format that’s easy to understand. And, it started here in Philadelphia! skinthesurfacepod.com
