This Sunday, October 21 (5 PM), Ella’s American Bistro in Wayne will offer a special menu inspired by the real-life travels of its namesake, Ella Anne Widener Wetherill. Spotlighting a different country on one Sunday every month, the dinner program ($26/per person) speaks to the restaurant's overall mission—the family-run resto pays homage to its late matriarch by borrowing inspiration for everything from the menu to the architecture from Wetherill’s adventures.
The first stop on Ella’s world tour is Italy, where chef Chad Jajcyzk will wow guests with a family-style dinner complete with classic Italian favorites. Start off with fresh autumn salad greens topped with olives and pepperoncini, and toasted bread with roasted garlic and olive oil. Traditional pastas like spaghetti and meatball marinara and orrechetti primavera are set to serve as the meal’s mains. But be sure to save room for a savory side of broccoli rabe, and—of course—Italian cookies as dessert.
Stay tuned next month, when the resto’s rotating menu takes your taste buds to Korea on Sunday, November 18. 214 Sugartown Rd., Wayne, 610-964-3552
