For Tim, Executive Vice President at Alliant Insurance Services, serving his company and community is a package deal. Here’s how the Philadelphia business leader uses his influence for good.
What are your specialties in your industry?
Alliant is the premier specialty broker serving several industry verticals. Given my experience as a regional operations executive at a global Fortune 50 food and beverage manufacturer, my primary focus is the food and beverage sector. I have experienced firsthand the challenges that today’s executives face, which uniquely qualifies me to understand their risks and develop tailored insurance solutions.
What is your favorite part of your job?
First and foremost, the people. From my team members to the clients we serve to the trusted advisors with whom we engage, the people are what makes this job amazing. Working at Alliant, where everyone is valued and treated equitably with dignity and respect, you feel the collaborative team spirit.
What does it mean to be powerful in your area of expertise?
My philosophy when problem-solving for clients is to pursue a suitable, mutual fit. People recognize when you are genuine and the rewards are proven over time. I believe in helping others with no expectation of return and always giving the client more than they expect.
Is there a mentor who has influenced your career?
I’ve been fortunate to have many mentors throughout my career. They are aware of their impact, and I often remind them of how much they have meant to me personally and professionally.
What are the positive ways you use your power in your community?
I can empathize with those who grow up poor, not knowing if there is enough food to eat or without access to opportunities. I try to dedicate my time to driving change, improving lives and championing the less fortunate through board engagement, volunteer work or mentoring others.
Outside of work, what do you love about living in Philadelphia?
Greater Philly is an amazing area—a big city small enough to feel like your hometown. It is surrounded by some of the best mountain biking, road cycling, and gravel riding anywhere, and it has a thriving restaurant scene.
