With bucolic rolling hills, scenic hiking trails and enough history to satiate even the most voracious Revolutionary War buff, Valley Forge Park is one of the region’s true treasures. The usual activities are on hold for now—those encampment walking tours, continental soldier meet-and-greets and experiencing Washington’s Headquarters will have to wait—but visitors are welcome to wander the park at their leisure for an extra dose of all-American patriotism. Snap a photo in front of the National Memorial Arch to remember a summer that’s bound to make history all its own.
