It’s time to stow away your favorite off-the-shoulder chiffon blouse and unpack all-things cozy. Just as the seasons change, however, styles do too. Here’s what you have to look forward to for this fall season according to five local fashion experts.
"This fall I'm looking forward to the return of the wide leg trouser paired with neutral and jewel toned turtleneck sweaters. Slim on the top with a flare of relaxation on the bottom. Think Acne Studios and Opening Ceremony when shopping for fall."
“Velvet is going to be everywhere this Fall. It made a brief appearance last Fall but didn't really catch. Look out for it on everything. I'm talking boots, handbags, and clothing. Jewel tone colors will be the most suitable for this season. Oh—and the velvet won't just be plain on the handbags, think the Gucci Marmont handbag with embroidery and embellishments.”
“One—anything and everything velvet. From bags to shoes to the new high waisted wide legs I just ordered—velvet is going to be everywhere. The other is the return of the kitten heel. The kitten heel is making a chic and strong come back this Fall. I personally have always hated the kitten heel but I am totally onboard with the tread this time around as I feel my style has matured and become more chic these last few years. I recently bought a few pairs to update my Fall shoe collection and I’m super excited to style them with some denim and chunky sweaters.”
“This fall, you're going to see a lot of graphic tops. Whether that's a tee or even a sweater — we're all about it! You're also going to see wider leg pants. We're starting to move away from everything being so tight. Don't ditch all of your slim pants but it's definitely time to invest in a few loose-fitting pieces.”
"Fall is obviously the best season for fashion and I'm betting autumn 2017 is going to be iconic. I think—and hope_we'll see a lot of colorful kimono-style robes. It's a timeless silhouette that's finally going to get the recognition it deserves. The sock bootie (think Yeezy!) is also going to be everywhere. If you're not sure about how to style them, they're great paired with wide-leg denim or a wrap mini dress."
