Inspire Your Wedding With This Two-Day Villanova Affair

Two celebrations were better than one for Colin Winrow and his bride, Alexandra (Ali) Mazzeo, who said “I do” twice in a weekendlong affair.

WHEN THE CHURCH of your dreams is not available on your date, as in the case of Alexandra (Ali) Mazzeo and Colin Winrow, you simply make your wedding a two-day affair. The couple, who originally met 12 years ago while students at Villanova University, knew that they just had to tie the knot at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, where Ali’s parents also wed 30 years ago. “Unfortunately, the church was not available on May 1, so the we decided to have a ceremony on Friday afternoon followed by a dinner,” says Ali of their elegant celebration for 85 guests at TPC Jasna Polana in Princeton, N.J. On Saturday, The Ashford Estate served as the venue for a second ceremony and bigger reception, this time including all 140 guests. Inspired by the classic style of Kate Middleton, Ali chose lily of the valley blooms for her bridal bouquets (symbolizing purity, happiness, luck and humility) and a neutral color palette with hints of pale blush. “Due to the pandemic, we had to replan the wedding three times. Despite all the changes, the wedding weekend was more than we could have ever imagined,” says the bride.
