Notoriously tough TV personality and world-famous chef Gordon Ramsay names the food and drink pairings you should try at his Atlantic City eatery.
From the kitchen to his many reality TV gigs (Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Hotel Hell), there's no denying Gordon Ramsay's reputation as a culinary genius—and he lets us all have a taste of his masterful cuisine via his 25 restaurants around the world. This year, the Scottish-born chef expanded his empire with the February opening of Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill inside Caesar’s Palace (2100 Pacific Ave., 609-343-2600)—his first Atlantic City eatery and the offshoot of his Las Vegas restaurant of the same name. The menu features authentic English pub fare, while the bar boasts more than 45 different varieties of beer. Here, Ramsay tells us his favorite dishes at Pub & Grill and pairs each one with a unique brew.
Ramsay Burger + Anderson Valley Brewing Co.'s Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout Melted Asadero, tomatoes, smashed avocado, onion rings, and jalapeño on a buttered brioche bun
Chef Ramsay says: “There are so many elements that go into a great burger. From the selection of meats, our brioche bun made daily, how it’s cooked, the sauces, and the fresh toppings and ingredients.”
Ale Battered Fish and Chips + Uinta Brewing Co.'s Cockeyed Cooper Barley Wine Ale Fish filet, crispy chips, mushy peahs, and tartar sauce
Chef Ramsay says: “It’s a classic.”
The Dublin + St. Bernardus Watou's St. Bernardus Extra 4 Corned beef, sauerkraut, Thousand Island dressing, gruyere, and pumpernickel boule
Chef Ramsay says: “The Dublin is one of our most unique menu items—it’s the sort of dish that everyone who didn’t order it will wish they had.”
Chef Ramsay says: “I think a lot of people still think of British cooking as bland and a bit dull. But cooked well, British cooking is really flavorful. So much time and effort goes into our slow-cooked pork to ensure those savory flavors are packed into every bite.”
Scotch Egg + Brasserie de Rochefort's Trappistes 6 Crispy soft-boiled egg in sausage, HP braised cabbage, and English mustard
Chef Ramsay says: “The farm fresh eggs and quality sausage make Pub & Grill’s scotch eggs a very popular house favorite. My kids can’t get enough of them."
