Your Guide to the Grass Court Championships in Philly

Experience a taste of Wimbledon this summer at the National Men’s and Women’s Grass Court Championships in Philly.

While spending time at Wimbledon, nibbling on strawberries and cream at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, is undoubtedly on every tennis-lover’s bucket list, there’s a local alternative that’ll give you that luxe grass court experience, sans a trip across the pond. Arguably featuring the best grass courts in all the country, Germantown Cricket Club (germantowncricket.org) and Philadelphia Cricket Club (philacricket.com) play host this summer to the National Men’s and Women’s Grass Court Championships for both singles and doubles. Welcoming some of the nation’s preeminent grass court players in ages ranging from 35- 85, the Women’s Championships will be held at GCC from July 15-21 and the Men’s will be held at PCC from August 3-26. All events are open to the public and free to watch.
