Aloha! Meet Sarona Farrell, a Hawaii-girl living the city life in Philly, planning weddings from coast to coast and across the Pacific. Read on to learn more about Gloweddings’ founder, a former singer and Grammy winning artist.
What motivated you to start your business?
Covid did! After 30 years of professional singing on stage and in film, the music industry shut down and I was suddenly given the opportunity to pursue a passion I'd had since I was a young mom, busy with weekend soccer games and birthday parties to attend. I don't know how young entrepreneurial moms do it today. It's a lot of work!
What is your best advice for engaged couples?
For her, bring him into the planning, value his priorities, and be honest about finances. For him, be excited about this! Many women have dreamt of this day for decades! Be a helper, a sounding board, an advocate. And remember to hire the planner.
What is your favorite trend for weddings currently?
Color, color and more color! Florals, decor, accessories, stationery and signage!
What sets your brand or business apart?
Hawaiian Hospitality, warmth and empathy. Kindness is important to me. I share that with my clients. Excellence in planning and organization gives me and my clients confidence on the wedding day.
What's your proudest achievement?
My happy family. Imperfect, but tight-knit and loving. And it all started with “I do".
