Three megawatt holiday happenings you won’t want to miss this season. Walk among the dinosaurs at LuminoCity’s Golden Holiday
For truly over-the-top holiday revelry, don’t miss LuminoCity’s Golden Holiday (luminocityfestival.com). Staged at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center through Jan. 15, 2024, the surreal holiday attraction has a prehistoric theme with 40 life-size, animated dinosaurs surrounded by over 80 illuminated sculptures and a 50-f0ot Christmas tree. Over in Manayunk, the neighborhood’s fourth annual Get LIT (manayunk.com) is back and bigger than ever. Hop on the free Jolley Trolley to take in the decorated storefronts along Main Street. Don’t worry—there’s plenty of opportunities to jump off for holiday shopping and sipping at dozens of participating businesses now through Dec. 31.
Pizza Jawn is participating in Manayunk’s annual Get LIT event.
In Chester County, the Devon Horse Show and Country Fairground is trading lemon sticks for candy canes when the epicenter of the Main Line equestrian community transforms into a traditional European Christmas market for Yuletide at Devon (yuletideatdevon.com), open through Dec. 31. Father-son duo and Devon natives Rob and Jes Bickhart (Rob is a founding committee member of Penn State’s Thon fundraiser and Jes worked in film production in Los Angeles) are the brains behind the new winter festival, decked out with four million LED lights and featuring farm-to-table bites and craft cocktails. There’s also a jam-packed live-music lineup that already kicked off with international acts Jamie Miller and Smith & Thell opening weekend and concludes with a New Year’s Eve performance by country star Chris Lane.
