The Brind-Marcus Integrative Medicine Center opens next month at Jefferson, and we have a preview of the exciting new services it'll offer patients.
Opening in November 2015, Jefferson’s Brind-Marcus Integrative Medicine Center in Villanova, Pa., takes personalized medicine to a new level, helping patients achieve their holistic health and wellness goals. The new location features 14,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities, creating an environment that allows the healing process to begin the moment patients walk through the door. The services that will be offered at The Brind-Marcus Center include:
The Brind-Marcus Center will feature a general integrative medicine practice that will include assessment and treatment of a wide range of health and wellness issues. Specialty care will also be available, including expert evaluations and innovative treatment for neuro-cognitive health and integrative cardiology with a focus on prevention and integrative management of lipidemia and other cardiovascular issues.
Nutrient therapies serve several purposes. Some infusions are designed to enhance wellness, while others target specific issues, such as magnesium for migraine headaches. Also, nutrient depletions can be more efficiently restored with intravenous infusions. In addition, the new Center will have cutting-edge clinical trials using targeted pharmacologic nutrients, such as Vitamin C and NAC, for cancer and Parkinson’s disease.
The Brind-Marcus Center will feature the only PET-MRI in the entire Delaware Valley, offering innovative imaging technology for cancer screenings, brain health, cardiac health, and much more. Available to patients in January 2016, this hybrid technology combines an MRI with molecular imaging to give a complete picture with precise alignment of anatomy and metabolic activity without radiation. Patients who need both tests will have the convenience of one exam instead of two. This technology will assess a wide range of diseases such as neurological disorders, guide innovative treatment protocols, and enhance research at the Center.
The Executive Great Life Program will be available in Villanova, Pa. It is a groundbreaking program developed at the Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine and is designed to take the typical Executive Health Program to the next level.
Based on the popular press book, The Great Life Makeover, the program includes a pre-assessment that will provide a comprehensive snapshot of current health status and challenges prior to a full-day evaluation. The next step is to spend a full day with the staff for an intensive, scientifically-rigorous health assessment that will include the following evaluations: diet and exercise, sexual health, energy level, illness risk factors, heart health, stress, physical exams, and other specialized assessments customized to the individual.
Patients frequently report their Executive Great Life Program encounter as "life changing," and that the level of personalized care is like nothing they have ever experienced in any type of health setting.
In addition to the physician-based clinic, patients will have streamlined access to many wellness services including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), acupuncture, smoking cessation, mind-body therapies and an on-site apothecary for specialist wellness products.
