Jade Okere’s Main Line boutique features curated fashions from around the world.
The Main Line is already filled with fashion-forward, one-of-a-kind boutiques, but the area’s newest addition is sure to raise the style bar. Jade’s Closet—an upscale women’s retailer owned and operated by Jade Okere—recently debuted its first storefront in Wayne, bringing unique designer fashions from both American and international brands to the suburbs.
“I think every girl’s dream is to open a store; at least it was mine since I was young,” says Okere, daughter of former NBA star and Philadelphia 76er Gerald Henderson Sr. “I used to change my clothes three times a day when I was a child, and I've loved fashion and clothes ever since. Style and fashion inspiration for me branches from my family, and I really wanted to bring that to the world.”
Chic dresses—from casual to cocktail—along with tops, bottoms, and outerwear can all be found on the racks at Jade’s Closet. Mara Hoffman and L.A.M.B are among the clothing labels carried, while Jennifer Zeuner and Tai Jewelry are a sampling of the accessories on offer. “I wanted a contemporary mix of classic and edgy, prints and basics, and emerging and established designers,” says Okere. “I wanted to create a boutique that struck a balance between all of these things, and I believe that I have done it.”
