Janice Martin Couture specializes in designing custom bridal and evening wear. Chosen by the Philadelphia Museum of Art to restore Princess Grace’s wedding veil in 1997, and a recipient of the 2010 Best of Philly award, Janice Martin has built a reputation for collaborating with clients in creating their perfect gown. Whether a redesign of a family heirloom gown for a bride, a christening gown for a newborn… hand painted fabric for a mother of the groom or imported hand beaded French Chantilly lace for a third time bride, she has all the ingredients one could wish for.

The process is different than retail –there are no gowns to try on, but there are oodles of fabrics to peruse, trims to choose, ideas to discuss. The gown “evolves” based on choices made by the client and so each gown reflects and flatters the client’s personality as well as figure. Pregnant women or those losing weight can have the gown adjusted along the way… and because the gown is made locally it can be ready sooner, is made out of natural fiber fabrics, has a smaller carbon footprint and little waste, and can be truly reflective of the client’s vision.
