Nothing beats eating some nice, cold ice cream on a hot day––it’s a Summer staple! Below are six of the best ice cream shops at the Jersey Shore.
Sundaze
Nestled in Ventnor City, this family-oriented ice cream shop is sure to have a delicious frozen treat for everyone. With a ton of creative ice cream flavors, such as strawberry cheesecake and chocolate banana, incredible water ice and frozen yogurt, fun sundaes along with a gigantic list of toppings, it is no wonder why there is a line around the block each night. But don’t worry, it moves fast. Sundaze also offers an amazing banana whip for a healthier alternative to ice cream. With both indoor and outdoor seating, they have it all. 6814 Ventnor Ave., 609.449.8195, sundaze.food93.com
Two Cents Plain
This adorable, family-run ice cream shop has been a Margate hit since 1974. Featuring a sit-down dining experience, this shop is most well-known for its fresh, hot waffles served with up to two delectable ice cream flavors and any toppings imaginable. As if it couldn’t get any better, customers can also enjoy enormous sundaes and milkshakes, smoothie bowls, banana whips and, of course, a classic ice cream cone. 9305 Ventnor Ave., 609.822.2800, two-cents-plain.com
Margate Dairy Bar & Burger
This tasty destination kept the classic 50s diner-like design from its 1952 creation, and also maintained its spot as one of the most sought-out ice cream spots in Margate. Dairy Bar boasts hand dipped ice cream flavors, like vanilla peanut butter swirl and Boston cream pie, as well as daily-made cones, frozen yogurt, sundaes and Philadelphia Water Ice—all served in a family-atmosphere. Not to mention, they offer a variety of non-frozen desserts, such as funnel cake fries and freshly baked cookies. 9510 Ventnor Ave., 609.822.9559, margatedairybar.com
Peace Pie
With two locations on the Jersey Shore, there are double the reasons to head to this gourmet ice cream sandwich shop. This shop produces pie-inspired ice cream sandwiches, like salted caramel apple, for example, made with creamy vanilla ice cream and salted caramel apple pie filling squished between two cinnamon shortbread cookies. Peace Pie expanded their flavor combinations since first opening, constructing a long list of both cookie and ice cream flavors for infinite combinations. 7307 Ventnor Ave., Ventnor, NJ, 609.457.0655; 326 Carpenters Lane, Cape May, NJ, 609.435.5321, peacepieworld.com
