Every love story is unique, and the details of a wedding should reflect that individuality. Founded with a passion for creativity and a dedication to meaningful design, JL Original Designs brings each couple’s vision to life with artistry, precision, and a personal touch.
What motivated you to start your business?
I started JL Original Designs because of a deep love for creativity, a passion for making meaningful connections, and the desire to bring unique visions to life. In the greater Philadelphia area there was a gap in the market for personalized and high-quality designs, and wanted to fill it with something fresh and authentic.

What sets your brand apart, and are there any signature elements that make your business unique from other wedding companies?
- Personalized Touch
Every creation is tailored to reflect the unique story, personality, and vision of the client. It's not just about the product, it’s about meaningful and, memorable designs that could set you apart as well, like, for instance, a hidden floral element, a meaningful symbol, or a personal engraving that reflects the couple’s relationship or surprise extras.
- Emphasis on Client Relationships
Beyond delivering results, the brand prioritizes building genuine relationships with clients, ensuring they feel heard and valued throughout the process.
- Proven Results
Whether it’s the track record of happy clients, testimonials, or tangible outcomes like repeat business or word-of-mouth referrals, there’s evidence that the approach works.
- Passion-Driven
The business isn’t just about profits—it’s about passion, love for the craft, and a genuine desire to make a difference in people’s lives.
- Eco-Friendly Practices
If you prioritize sustainable materials or methods, that can make your brand memorable in today’s eco-conscious market.

What is your best advice for engaged couples?
- Talk about everything
Whether they are your goals, finances, dreams, or concerns a strong foundation of communication will carry you through challenges.
- Plan Together, Delegate Wisely
Share the wedding planning process so it reflects both of you. But don’t be afraid to delegate tasks to friends, family, or professionals to reduce stress.
- Focus on Your Marriage, Not Just the Wedding
Getting in caught up in planning the “perfect day” is easy, but the real goal is building a happy and healthy life together.
- Set a Realistic Budget
Financial stress is one of the biggest challenges for couples. Be clear about what you can afford and prioritize what matters most.
- Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff
Things might not go perfectly, and that’s okay. The little hiccups often make for the best stories later.
- Take Time to Just Enjoy Each Other
Amid the hustle of planning, set aside regular time for dates or downtime to connect as a couple.
- Write Personal Vows or Commitments
Even if you’re having a traditional ceremony, writing something from the heart will make your day feel even more meaningful.
- Capture the Moments
Hire a photographer and/or videographer if possible. These memories will be priceless.
- Practice Gratitude
Show appreciation for each other, your support system, and your journey. Gratitude strengthens relationships.
- Remember Why You’re Saying “I Do”
The wedding is one day, but the marriage is a lifetime. Keep your love and partnership at the center of everything.
How far in advance should couples book your business?
At JL Original Designs, it's ideal to recommend couples book 10-12 months in advance. Here's why:
Customization Takes Time – Designing personalized pieces requires a thoughtful process to ensure every detail is perfect.
High Demand – Booking early secures their spot, especially during peak wedding seasons. Stress-Free Planning – Early bookings give both the business and the couple ample time for revisions, communication, and collaboration.
