What motivated you to start your business?

I started Laura & Leigh Bridal for a lot of reasons, but the biggest reason is I felt like brides needed a place to shop that had a different approach to wedding dress shopping. I wanted to create a team and a place that made shopping fun and easy, rather than an exhausting process.
But more than that, I wanted to create a safe space where everyone could feel confident to shop for a wedding dress, regardless of their size, gender, race or even personal style! We just wanted to create an inclusive environment that was fun for all of our couples! This is supposed to be an enjoyable time in a person’s life and I wanted to give brides that!

What is something you constantly strive for?

Our team’s goal is to never stop learning, changing and growing. We are constantly striving to make our space more inclusive and partnering with designers who embrace our mission and match our values. For example, we have designers who give back, have size-inclusive size charts, embrace ethical practices or celebrate diversity. We recently added Pantora Bridal to our collection and it’s just so wonderful to see brides discover this amazing designer!

Favorite trend for weddings currently?

My favorite trend for 2025 weddings is brides being expressive with design details like pops of color on their dresses or coming up with ways to make a dress their own, for example: adding custom details, bows or detachable elements. I also love that brides are returning to sophisticated clean styles with dramatic details and romantic dropped/basque waistlines.

How far in advance should couples book your business?

We recommend calling to book an appointment with us to shop about two weeks out, especially if you want to do a VIP private experience! For shopping, people should really plan to decide on a dress about a year out from the wedding. Finding a dress can definitely happen in less time, so if you have a short engagement, you don’t have to panic. You just need to move a little quicker through the process and work with your stylists to help complete your vision in your timeline. A year out is perfect and ideal to allow for shipping and alterations!

Best advice for engaged couples?

Don’t overshop. There are a lot of people who say you have to go to a certain number of stores and that you can’t say yes to the first dress or first store. The truth is, there’s no magical number of dresses or stores. Everyone goes through wedding dress shopping differently and there’s no right or wrong way to do it. Plus, you’re more likely to exhaust yourself and get decision or dress fatigue if you go to too many places. You never know when that magical dress will present itself, so keep an open mind! If it feels right, it probably is the right dress, so don’t second guess yourself!
