Cultures united and traditions were celebrated when Ly Tran and Tony Prak tied the knot in August. Ly Tran and Tony Prak
LY TRAN AND TONY PRAK met in 2013 as students of Temple University—although the two started out as just friends. “When Tony confessed his feelings, I continued to friend-zone him for the next three years,” says the bride. “Finally one day (March 13, 2016) we decided to give it a try, and the rest is history.

The duo celebrated their love story with a classic Champagne and white summer fete at Water Works—complete with a choreographed dance by the bride and groom and cultural, fun-filled traditions. “Tony’s side of the family is Cambodian and Chinese, and there is a tradition where they blindfold the groom and father of the groom, hiding red envelopes with money inside the dresses of the bride and bride’s mother,” says Ly. “The men are to locate the envelopes by feeling for it—a lot of fun, laughter and allowed for all families to come together as one.” Before the newlyweds jetted off to Oahu, Hawaii, they danced the night away with their 150 guests, dining on filet mignon and a four-tiered chocolate chip cookie cake.
