It’s a random Saturday night and you’ve decided to host a casual cocktail party for a few friends. Naturally, since any in-person, at-home occasion is worth celebrating in 2021, the evening calls for Champagne and caviar. But where does one track down this elusive delicacy at a moment’s notice? Di Bruno Bros.’ (dibrunobro.com) new marketplace in Wayne is the best place to start. The 8,000-square-foot culinary destination from Philadelphia’s first family of Italian specialty foods opened in March beside the Lancaster County Farmers Market, bringing all of the elevated offerings the name is known for—the cured meats and unparalleled cheese selection—along with a few debut concepts to its second suburban outpost (the Ardmore location opened in 2011). Besides the assortment of caviar at the new Salumi & Seacuterie counter, the marketplace is now home to rotisserie and pastry counters and an open demonstration kitchen. Gourmands will also find a cafe, bottle shop and Bar Alimentari, a more intimate version of the Center City flagship’s restaurant that just began serving a weekend brunch menu. For summer, Di Bruno Bros. is even wheeling in a gelato cart. Says Emilio Mignucci, vice president of culinary pioneering, “We think the combination of the authentic old-world farmers market with our offerings will complement and provide the Main Line community a unique shopping experience not readily found outside of the city.”
