Jane Winchester Paradis’ new Jane Win boutique carries the brand’s signature coin pendants.
A WIN-WIN SITUATION
The distinctive downtown Wayne space that once housed Jane Winchester Paradis’ jewelry collection, Jane Win (janewin.com), has moved to a more spacious location right on West Avenue. Tripled in size to 3,000 square feet, the new location now provides an ideal blend of showroom, office and creative space for the growing accessories brand. Centered around the namesake designer’s artistic vision, the aesthetic combines elements of an art gallery, curio cabinet and nature-inspired palette. Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by a handpainted wall adorned with graphic doodles by artist Elizabeth Weglein, although the focal point of the showroom is a library table layered with beautiful jewelry, including gold pieces displayed under glass cloches and layered on framed butterflies and brass cast beetles. It’s a true manifestation of Jane’s creative vision and a behind-the-scenes look for loyal customers. And while the showroom is primarily by appointment only, there are monthly trunk shows where the public can shop without an appointment. “This new location is a dream come true,” says Winchester Paradis. “We have a clean new space that’s open and full of natural light. The Main Line has incredibly supported our brand, and I’m forever grateful. I love that we’re steps from our favorite restaurants and the train station. We have so much respect for our fellow small businesses in Wayne and we’re happy to be closer to the action.”
Jenni Kayne’s new Suburban Square location is an ode to quiet luxury.
LAID BACK LUXURY
Known for its laid-back luxe looks, California lifestyle brand Jenni Kayne (jennikayne.com) just opened its newest retail location in the heart of Suburban Square, marking the brand’s first brick-and-mortar presence in the state. The store offers Jenni Kayne’s full range of utterly touchable apparel, accessories, home goods and apothecary items, including the beloved Oak Essentials skincare line formulated with clean ingredients. The corner store brings the brand’s modern and minimalist aesthetic to life and features abundant natural light from windows on two sides, creating a bright, airy shopping experience reflective of Jenni Kayne’s West Coast ethos. “We’re so excited to make our debut in Pennsylvania with our first Philadelphia store,” says Julia Hunter, CEO of Jenni Kayne. “We’ve seen a growing customer base in the Philadelphia area, and after testing the market through e-commerce sales, we knew we’d find continued success with a brick-and-mortar.”

FOR ART’S SAKE
Expect collectors, buyers and designers alike to descend upon the gateway to the Main Line for the 35th annual Manayunk Arts Festival, (manayunk.com) the largest outdoor, juried arts festival in the tri-state region. Taking place on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, the festival has built a reputation as one of the best outdoor juried arts events, garnering over five million attendees since first debuting in 1990. This year’s event will feature 300 local and nationally known artists, as well as 30 up-and-coming emerging artists, all showing works from eight different disciplines: ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, drawing, photography, wood and sculpture. Beyond the art and crafts, visitors can also enjoy food and drink vendors, merchant specials, live art demonstrations and much more. And for those who love to pair history with art, this event is particularly notable because it’s a highlight of the year-long celebration of Manayunk’s 200th bicentennial.
Truffles with Dom Perignon crème is a favorite of Teuscher devotees.
SWEET BEGINNINGS
Wayne welcomed a sweet new storefront with the recent opening of Teuscher Chocolates (teuscherphiladelphia.com), bringing its decadent European confections to the Main Line. The compact 500-square-foot shop offers a luxury chocolate experience, with a gorgeous array of Teuscher’s celebrated chocolates, prized for their premium ingredients and traditional Swiss techniques passed down for over 90 years. The shop sources ingredients globally—think hazelnuts from Sicily, macadamia nuts from Costa Rica, Champagne from France—all meticulously blended using original Zurich recipes. Must-tries include the dark Champagne truffle with Dom Perignon crème enrobed in dark chocolate ganache, surrounded by a dark chocolate shell and finished with cocoa powder, or the fleur de sel caramel truffle, offered in dark and milk chocolate, which has hand-raked salt from France delicately combined with dark chocolate ganache and honed caramel, topped with salt flakes from France. Owner Andrée Goldberg, whose family has represented the Teuscher brand locally since 2007, envisions the Wayne location not only as a place to pick up some treats, but also as a communal gathering space. “Our shop will be a place for quick moments of joy, enriching tastings or memorable connections over a Teuscher chocolate,” she says. Expect events like spirit pairings with local brands and during the warmer months, outdoor seating will be available for customers. With its convenient location and community-focused vision, Teuscher seems poised to become a sweet centerpiece of downtown Wayne’s revitalization.
