Cara Catagnus and Mary Tomassetti of Mane Techniques are helping Philadelphia brides achieve their ultimate hair goals.
If you’re striving to turn heads on your wedding day, hair gurus Cara Catagnus and Mary Tomassetti can help. The dynamic duo—who met in January 2019 while working together at a salon on the Main Line—started Mane Techniques in November 2019 and haven’t looked back. “Our shared passion for hair extensions and hair loss solutions was what really inspired the kickoff of Mane Techniques,” says Catagnus. “We believe someone who is confident in their look is more confident in who they are.” The two have been successfully creating stunning ’dos for brides who want extensions—with options ranging from DIY voluminous topper pieces, clip-ins, adjustable hanging hair wefts and ponytails to “permanent” beaded hair including individuals and sewn-in hair wefts. “We prefer a bride to have at least eight to 10 weeks of wear time to become adjusted to the feeling of the extensions,” says Tomassetti. “This way we can make sure the installation for the wedding day is perfectly placed!” With clients like recent bride and fashion blogger Danielle Maiale (her Union League wedding is featured in this issue), Mane Techniques is building buzz in the beauty space on Instagram. “Social media has created an outlet for artists and teachers to share their work and the ‘why’ behind how they perform a service,” says Catagnus. “A majority of our clientele has been built from the work we share and teach on our social media platforms.” Brides can book a consultation appointment online (Mane Techniques keeps a running waitlist) to begin their journey to achieving the hair of their dreams. 220 Sugartown Road, Ste. 1A and B, Wayne, Pa., manetechniques.com
